POLI 391 – The Foundations of Law and Government

Travel to London and The Hague from June 5 – 15, 2017

Are you interested in law and politics? Would you like to experience two awesome cities in Europe? Have you considered what the legal implications of the recent Brexit decision might be? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, consider signing up for POLI 391 – The Foundations of Law and Government. Now in its 5th year, this class involves spending 10 days in Europe (specifically in London, England and The Hague, Netherlands) visiting legal and governmental institutions in those cities. We will learn how and why countries organize their legal institutions in specific ways, explore how international law affects domestic politics, and speak with judges, barristers/attorneys, and professional staffers about their everyday work.

If you are interested in hearing more details about this class and trip, please attend one of the following informational sessions (held in Gambrell 404).

Monday, October 3 from 5:00 – 6:00 pm

Thursday, October 6 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm
