The Department of Geography is hosting several events over the next few weeks that may be of interest to ROLC Associates and Core Faculty. Please see below for more information.

February 13: Dr. Judith Carney from UCLA will be speaking as part of the Phi Beta Kappa lecture series.  Her research for the past several decades has focused on rice cultivation in West Africa and questions of gender, land tenure, and development policies.  This event will be held on February 13 at 4:30 pm in Russell House 305, with a reception to follow. February 23: Dr. John O’Loughlin from University of Colorado will be presenting the annual Minghi Lecture, focusing on the relationship between climate change, food insecurity, and conflict in Africa.  This event is on February 23 at 3:30 pm in Russell House 305, with a reception to follow.
