Faith Young joined the Rule of Law Collaborative as Grants Administrator/Budget Officer in August 2016. Faith comes to the Rule of Law Collaborative from the Bursar’s Office at the University of South Carolina, where she served as an Accounting/Fiscal Analyst.
Faith brings five years of experience serving the University of South Carolina. In her prior role in the Bursar’s Office, she was responsible for reconciling, analyzing, interpreting and auditing the university tuition and fee accounts for the Columbia campus, as well as the seven system campuses across the state of South Carolina. In addition to this, she resolved billing and payment discrepancies within a high volume of grant accounts. She also managed the distribution of university funds, board mandated fees for auxiliary operations, and various revenue accounts.
Ms. Young also has twelve years of experience in accounting and office administration in the private sector. Prior to working in Higher Education at the University of South Carolina, she served as Controller and Accounting/Administrative Manager in the manufacturing industry, where she managed all of the accounting operations for a company and improved company processes by providing strategic budgeting and forecasting support to the business.
Ms. Young holds a B.A. in Business Economics from California State University Long Beach and is currently working towards completing her grant certification through the University of South Carolina. She has also served as a member of the International Student Affairs Committee. Her international experiences include participating in, as well as leading, volunteer work camps in Chiapas, Mexico and Guatemala.
