Tonight, ROLC Associate Dr. Caroline Nagel, will be participating in a panel on the global refugee crisis. The event, hosted by the Carolina Peace Resource Center, is one of a number of events that have occurred over the past few days in celebration of World Refugee Day, including a Colors of the World Festival and a Refugee Simulation. Dr. Nagel, Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and a migration specialist, will be joined by Loubna Mrie, journalist, activist, and participant in the Syrian uprising who is now living as a refugee in New York, as well as Thomas Hammond, photojournalist who traveled to Syria, Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan to document the Syria conflict and refugees. The panel takes place today, June 20th, 2017 at 6:30pm and is free and open to the public. More information can be found here, or on Facebook.
