Gustavo “Gussa” Calderon is a prominent street artist in Costa Rica. Throughout his career, he has worked and painted in Costa Rica, New York, San Francisco, and Mexico. Currently, Gussa serves at the Integrated System of Art Education for Social Inclusion (SIFAIS) in La Carpio, Costa Rica, a private non-profit organization whose goal is to provide art and music education for youth. Gussa’s visit as a Maxcy Fellow is part of Global Carolina’s “USC in Costa Rica” initiative.
