Tonight, ROLC Associate Dr. Caroline Nagel, will be participating in a panel on the global refugee crisis. The event, hosted by the Carolina Peace Resource Center, is one of a number of events that have occurred over the past few days in celebration of World Refugee Day, including a Colors of the World Festival and a Refugee Simulation. Dr. Nagel, Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and a migration specialist, will be joined by Loubna Mrie, journalist, activist, and participant in the Syrian uprising who is now living as a refugee in New York, as well as Thomas Hammond, photojournalist who traveled to Syria, Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan to document the Syria conflict and refugees.
