Today, the Rule of Law Collaborative celebrates Women’s Equality Day and the commitment of female trailblazers who empower other women and girls around the world. Gender equality is fundamental to the rule of law, as well as all other aspects of development, including economic development and democracy; and ROLC supports global initiatives to improve the status of women. Last year, ROLC hosted the symposium “Women as Agents of Change in the Rule of Law,” featuring female leaders from South Africa, Kenya, Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and South Carolina.
