During the week of March 25, ROLC delivered two firsts: the inaugural capacity-building workshop for its South Asian Consortium for Regional Responsibility (SACRR) project and the inaugural Public Policy Workshop (PPW) for its Sri Lanka Think Tank Capacity Building (TTCB) project. In the former event, key staff from partnering research organizations in Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka participated. Kiel Downey and Atif Choudhury served as instructors for the former event, while Jerome Hansen and Atif Choudhury served as instructors and facilitators for the latter event
At the PPW, two guest speakers were featured. Stephanie Nicolle, Research and Learning Officer from On Think Tanks, presented data on issues and challenges facing think tanks in Asia, especially regarding constricting civic spaces. That session also gave participants the opportunity to discuss issues their organizations are facing. Additionally, Digital Public Square’s CEO Shlomit Broder presented on how organizations can leverage a range of technological tools and innovative approaches (such as gamification) to conduct targeted and sustainable advocacy. In both workshops, participants engaged in collaborative discussions and peer-to-peer learning, while receiving targeted feedback from both instructors and other participants.
