From Sept. 18-20, ROLC organized a two-day regional workshop for South Asian think tanks, in partnership with their Sri Lankan partners, Strategic Inspirations and the Consortium of South Asian Think Tanks. The workshop was entitled “Think Tanks as Vehicles for Social Progress” and featured over fifty participants representing 21 think tanks and NGOs from Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Singapore, and the United States. This was the first event in Sri Lanka that explicitly focused on think tanks and addressed a range of areas including political, economic, and social issues at the national and regional level as well as conducting research and advocacy. Workshop participants also explored the ongoing economic and political challenges facing Sri Lanka and other countries in the region.
